Our Gender Trouble writing challenge invited writers to pull apart the categories: gender and sex, heteronormativity and transgression, the body we were assigned and the one we actually inhabit—and our finalists delivered. We’re pleased to present our winning writers, with work ranging from poetry about names and chosen identity to a short story that lives in the footnotes.
